New hybrid species "Xunlong No. 1" jointly developed by the company officially approved

    As announced in the Ministry of Agriculture No. 2512 notice, the new hybrid sturgeon species “Xunlong No.1”jointly developed by the company, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences Heilongjiang Institute, and Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences Sturgeon Propagation Technology and Engineering Center was officially approved as a new State Fishery Variety. 

    With Kaluga as female parent and Amur sturgeon as male parent, the new hybrid sturgeon species “Xunlong No. 1” was developed through group breeding and cross breeding techniques based on farming characteristics of both parents to achieve the advantages of fast growth, easy taming, early sexual maturation, and high yield of roe.

     Caviar from such new variety has big grains, firm roe membrane, and a strong aromatic butter taste that lasts long. It is considered a high end variety in the international market. The success of its breeding has a unique significance in enriching sturgeon varieties and promoting healthy development of sturgeon industry in our country.
